I'm Kathryn Oliver, born in Queens, New York. Although I currently live in Florida, New York will always have my heart, only because I feel like I belong, especially as an artist. I was born to be an artist. Not a lot of people will believe me, but when was the last time you were born to be where you are now? Most people wanted to be President of the United States, a doctor, a lawyer, or a firefighter. Some actually do become what they wanted to be, others chose a different path. I chose to stick what I wanted to be. So, let me ask again: were you born to be where you are now? Art to me wasn't just art, it's a lifestyle. I would live in it, eat on it, breathe around it, dream of it, and take it with me to my grave. I enjoy paintings, drawings, doodles, sculptures, pictures, literature, music, architecture, cuisine, and so much more. However, I was, and still am, open to learning something new. I started learning Korean just for fun, until I began studying the language and the culture. Then, I got into linguistics to understand the system of language. I decided to go above and beyond with art by adding linguistics into it. I started to plan a mission where I can contribute to the solution of the world's problems with art. I believe that art can make a difference in the world, and it can reveal what people don't usually see. If they don't believe in the picture, then it gives them the opportunity to ask themselves, "What do they believe?" With thoughts and words, art can open doors to people with voices.
